Loose Anagen Syndrome

The biopsy shows a sufficient number of hairs that have the classic loose anagen hair syndrome morphology with the malleable misshaped hair bulb, the absent inner root sheath and ruffled cuticle.

Slide 1: One of the hairs in an anagen hair. The anagen bulb is misshaped and as well the inner root sheath has a ruffled appearance. The appearance of this one anagen hair is a textbook depiction of the loose anagen hair syndrome.
